If you want to save the project to come back to it later, go to the File menu and select "Save." Audacity project files are saved as AUP files. You can choose from a variety of formats, but MP3 is your safest bet. Experiment with noises and silence to see what works best for you you don't want to draw too much attention to where the swear word was.Ĭhoose "Export" from the File menu to create your audio file. "Tone" creates more of a standard beep, while "Noise" creates a static sound. The beep you listen was prepared using a known audio editing program called Audacity, and we used the ducks animation that we prepared a few months ago. Select the section of the second audio track where the silence is in the first track. Go to the Tracks menu, then choose "Add New" and select "Audio Track" to create a track for sound effects, such as beeps or static noise to replace the silent sections left by missing swear words. Go to the Edit menu and choose "Split Delete" to remove the section from the song. Select the swear word you want to delete-using the sound waves to guide you should make it pretty easy to get an accurate selection. Use "Ctrl" and "E" to zoom in on a selection, or "Ctrl" and "1" to just zoom in.
